Ever wanted to hear a Wilco version of “Call Me Maybe?” Well, you might have your chance soon.
As part of the opening to their Solid Sound Festival, which is set to take place at MASS MoCA in North Adams, Mass., the band will perform a concert consisting solely of fan-requested songs.
According to a press release, the band will take submissions in advance and learn 50 of the songs in time for the concert. The songs will then be selected at random for the band to perform during their set.
As part of the encore, the band will take suggestions from Twitter as well as participate in a live version of “Stump the Band” where audience members will attempt to suggest songs and “stump” the band. This is a takeoff on the popular Tonight Show sketch, with comedian John Hodgman stepping into the Johnny Carson position.
This is the first all-request concert for the band and possibly their last.
The festival, which takes place from June 21-23, will also feature the likes of Neko Case, Foxygen, Low, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Yo La Tengo and Os Mutantes.
More information is set to follow regarding how to submit requests to the band.
