Adrien Brody to Star in History Channel's Houdini Miniseries
Following the success of two other recent History Channel miniseries, it appears the network still has a few tricks up its sleeve with Academy Award-winning actor Adrien Brody (The Pianist and Midnight in Paris) signing on for a miniseries about legendary magician Harry Houdini, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Houdini is expected to depict the magician’s life as he rose to international fame. History’s Houdini will be the first time in 17 years that Brody has appeared on a scripted TV drama, with some of his last TV performances including small spots on Rebel Highway and the 1996 TV movie Rebel Hearts.
J.J. Abrams’ father, Gerald W. Abrams, is set to act as executive producer for the project. The premiere date for Houdini has not yet been released.
