Christoph Waltz, Nicole Kidman, Ang Lee Join Cannes Jury
Early this morning, Cannes officials announced the other members of the Steven Spielberg-led Cannes jury and, in the words of Hans Landa from Inglourious Basterds, it’s a bingo.
According to Indiewire, Landa himself (aka Oscar-winning actor and all around awesome guy Christoph Waltz), will join the jury as will fellow Oscar-winners Nicole Kidman and Life of Pi director Ang Lee. Occupying the other chairs will be acclaimed British director Lynne Ramsay (We Need to Talk About Kevin), Indian actress Vidya Balan (The Dirty Picture), Japanese director Naomi Kawase (The Mourning Forest), French actor/director Daniel Auteuil (After You…) and Romanian writer/director winner Cristian Mungiu, who walked away with the Palme d’Or in 2007 for his intense drama 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days.
The Cannes jury will determine which films win the coveted Palme d’Or prize as well as several other awards.
