Dodgeball Sequel in the Works
Fox is currently developing a sequel to the 2004 comedy Dodgeball: a True Underdog Story, which starred Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The report said Stiller and Stuart Cornfield’s Red Hour Films have assigned Clay Tarver to write the script for Dodgeball 2. Tarver wrote the 2001 Paul Walker thriller Joy Ride.
The original film told the story of a dodgeball tournament where Vaughn’s team of everymen, Average Joes, competed against Stiller’s ’roid-raging athletes from Globo-Gym. Not much is currently known about the sequel, but Stiller and Vaughn are expected to return “to team up to fight an even bigger threat.”
Until then, Stiller will return as the arrogant Tony Wonder in the highly anticipated new season of Arrested Development. Fresh off his Saturday Nigh Live hosting gig, Vaughn is currently promoting his reunion film with fellow frat pack member Owen Wilson. The Internship is set to open on June 7.
