Nasim Pedrad Cast in John Mulaney's NBC Pilot
Saturday Night Live‘s Nasim Pedrad will co-star in John Mulaney’s untitled NBC comedy pilot, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
As previously reported, NBC purchased a pilot written by and starring comedian John Mulaney with SNL creator Lorne Michaels executive producing.
Pedrad will play Jane, described as “the sweet, intelligent and lazy grade school teacher who doesn’t love her job and wants to make changes but she’s addicted to procrastinating.” Martin Short and Elliott Gould are also cast in the multicamera ensemble comedy based loosely on Mulaney’s life. Vulture describes the series as “about a comedy writer who decides to sober up and get his life together.”
Pedrad is currently in her fourth season on SNL with celebrity impression including Arianna Huffington, Nicki Minaj and Kim Kardashian. Mulaney is also a former writer for the sketch comedy series and known for creating Weekend Update’s city correspondent Stefon with Bill Hader.
If NBC chooses to not go forward with the series, Pedrad is expected to continue as an SNL cast member.
