Last week, Deadline reported that “Ceuf,” the fourth episode of NBC’s buzzed-about show Hannibal, would be pulled from its Thursday timeslot. The statement was released only a few hours before the Boston Marathon bombing and subsequent manhunt.
Reportedly, the most direct cause for the network’s decision to skip the episode was the Sandy Hook shooting in Newtown, Conn. NBC decided that the episode’s content, which concerns a group of children being brainwashed into killing their families, would be inappropriate programming during such a heightened social climate.
Now it appears portions of the episode will be seeing the light of day in web series form. According to TV Line, the webisodes will help bridge the gap between Episode 3 and Episode 5. Specifically, they will delve into the growing relationship between Hannibal Lecter and Abigail Hobbs, the daughter of a serial killer.
