Sigur Rós have debuted another new song from their upcoming new album, Kveikur, and this one finds Jónsi and co. delivering as close to a potential hit single than any other in their career. Which, for a song in Icelandic, is still a long shot here in America, but not inconceivable.
“Ísjaki” debuts via a lyric video, which is good news for the relatively small percentage of Sigur Rós fans that actually speak the native tongue. But, at least it’s not a lyric video in their fake language of Hopelandic.
The new album is due on June 18 via XL Recordings, but for now give the infectious “Ísjaki,” a testdrive below.
