Steve Buscemi Continues Hilarious Vampire Weekend Promotion with NYC Mayoral Candidate Bill de Blasio

April 22, 2013  |  6:15pm

To promote their upcoming Roseland Ballroom concert, Vampire Weekend got a little help from Steve Buscemi and New York Public Advocate Bill de Blasio.

Filmed outside a Brooklyn bowling alley, the clip features webcast director Buscemi running into de Blasio as he is on the campaign trail for the New York City mayoral race. After the politician confesses his Vampire Weekend fandom, Buscemi insists de Blasio inform the band of this self-promotion concept.

As a part of American Express’ Unstaged web series, the live stream of Vampire Weekend’s Roseland Ballroom concert is set for April 28. The band will release their forthcoming album titled Modern Vampires on May 14 via XL.
