Amanda Seyfried to Star in Upcoming Noah Baumbach Comedy While We're Young
On the heels of the Noah Baumbach/Greta Gerwig collaboration Frances Ha that just hit theaters, new details have emerged on While We’re Young, a new Ben Stiller comedy that Baumbach directed. According to a report from the Wrap, Amanda Seyfried will join a cast that includes Adam Driver and Naomi Watts.
Baumbach’s films are often dramedies rife with brewing tension and explosive human emotion in what’s been termed “emotional torture porn”; but he’s gotten more light-hearted over the years. Baumbach’s most recent collaboration with Ben Stiller on 2010’s Greenberg was a quaint comedic jaunt with Baumbach’s charming girlfriend Gerwig and featured a killer soundtrack from LCD Soundsystem.
In While We’re Young, the camera follows the interactions between two couples. Stiller and Watts are an uptight married couple that learn how to loosen up after meeting a pair of free-birds played by Driver and now, Seyfried. Seyfried will play a woman who makes homemade ice cream in the flick that’s sure to involve a certain amount of quirk and some Baumbach awkwardness.
In an interview with Indiewire, Baumbach said he would begin shooting this fall. If you can’t wait to watch the film, get a taste of what’s to come with Frances Ha, in theaters now.
