Amazon Drops Zombieland TV Series
Sorry, Zombieland lovers. Amazon has dropped the adaptation of the hit 2009 film, which was one of several pilots that the company produced and released to viewers last month, according to IGN.
Even though the series was being written and executive produced by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the same men who wrote the movie, it faced heavy criticism from fans before production had even begun. The duo had wanted Zombieland to be a TV series, and it was how they first imagined it before asked to rewrite it as a film.
Ultimately, despite Zombieland’s huge amount of name value, it couldn’t survive the bad buzz. Reese sent out a series of tweets regarding the dropped series, making it clear he blames the outcome on the unexpected fan reaction, one of which saying they “hated it out of existence.”
