Americana Music Association Announces 2013 Award Nominees

Early today, the nominees for the 2013 Americana Music Association Honors & Awards show were announced from the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, Calif. The announcment ceremony featured performances from Buddy Miller, Jim Lauderdale and T Bone Burnett along with Lisa Marie Presley, Elizabeth Cook and The Milk Carton Kids. Miller, Lauderdale and their band led a tribute to the recently departed George Jones.

South Carolina folk duo Shovels & Rope received four nominations, followed closely by Emmylou Harris and Buddy Miller, who earned three each.

The winners will be announced live at the annual Americana Honors and Awards on Sept. 18 on AXS TV. The ceremony will be held at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn.
