This summer, Edgar Wright will wrap up his “Three Flavours Cornetto” trilogy, which includes the comedies Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, with The World’s End. All three films have been directed by Wright and co-written by Wright and Simon Pegg, and they all star Pegg and Nick Frost. Today, The World’s End released its first trailer for the highly anticipated summer comedy.
The World’s End follows five childhood friends, played by Pegg, Frost, Paddy Considine, Martin Freeman and Eddie Marsan, who reunite years later to go on a pub crawl they weren’t able to finish in their youth. However once they’ve embarked on their quest, they realize the town isn’t the same as it once was and that something bigger than their own problems and drinking might be going on.
The World’s End is scheduled to be released in the United States on Aug. 23.
