According to The Hollywood Reporter, Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke snagged one of the lead role in James Franco’s latest directorial project, The Garden of Last Days. Franco will also star in the film.
Although the role will be Clarke’s major film debut, her credits include more than TV. She recently starred on Broadway in the stage adaptation of Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
The Garden of Last Days was adapted from Andre Dubus III’s (House of Sand and Fog) novel of the same name. The plot focuses on three interwoven story lines over the course of one night. According to the report, Clarke’s story is that of a stripper who, out of options, resorts to bringing her three-year-old daughter to work with her. The other storylines include a man who is thrown out of the club and a foreigner who’s a little too free with his money.
Gerard Butler, Alan Siegel, Danielle Robinson, Hanna Weg, Vince Jolivette and Miles Levy have signed on to produce the film. Production hopes to start filming in July.
