It would be a major understatement to say that Kanye West can be a bit of an oddball at times. Yet, for a man always raging to speak his mind, he’s been beyond cryptic as of late.
With one mysterious tweet, for instance, West may have just validated a week’s worth of speculation.
The flurry of activity began with the announcement that West would be serving as the musical guest for the May 18 finale of Saturday Night Live, leading many to hypothesize that West will have some new material to premiere. New York City-based radio DJ Peter Rosenberg further fueled rumors when he announced on his show that West’s “dark” new album was done (or nearly done) and that he’d played it for an enthused group of Def Jam execs.

Now, West himself may have just dropped a major hint regarding the album’s release date. Earlier today, West took to completely wiping his infamously cluttered Twitter. Now with only one “Following” (girlfriend/baby momma Kim Kardashian), West has posted a single tweet that simply reads, “June Eighteen.”
Whether that means a release date or some other special release (perhaps the due date of his child) is not entirely confirmed. But all signs seem to point to the “album announcement” theory.
We already know that Daft Punk, who are in the midst of promoting their own latest release, confirmed with Rolling Stone that they’d booked some studio time with West recently.
Also, according to the site Kanye to The, West has been recording his latest album in Paris. A list of rumored guests include Theophilus London, Florence Welch, 2 Chainz, Future, Ellie Goulding, Tyler, The Creator, Azealia Banks and recent Webby Person of the Year Frank Ocean (among many others).
