NBC Renews Community for 13-Episode Fifth Season
Either Sony Pictures’ renewal campaign worked or NBC still sees signs of life in its once-great comedy, as the network renewed Community for an abbreviated 13-episode fifth season on Friday, Deadline reports.
The show is far from its Dan Harmon-lead creative peak of the first three seasons, but the new show runners have now had time to settle into their new roles and will hopefully be able to maintain the show’s wit and humor next season.
There’s been speculation that Harmon could return to the helm, but no deals are in place as of yet.
NBC announced its fall schedule, and since Community is no where to be found, it’s likely to return at midseason—though could always come back earlier if one of the network’s new programs doesn’t draw enough viewers.
