Bill Hader, Fred Armisen Go Out in Style for SNL Finale
This past weekend, Saturday Night Live hosted an emotional goodbye to veteran cast members Bill Hader and Fred Armisen.
The season finale was hosted by Ben Affleck, who was inaugurated into the Five-Timers Club as Kanye West debuted two brand new tracks off of his upcoming album, Yeezus. But all eyes were on Hader and Armisen, who would take the stage at 30 Rock for the last time as cast members.
Hader, who is leaving after eight seasons, left us with a very special wedding ceremony for his beloved character on “Weekend Update,” nightlife correspondent, Stefon. And let us tell you: this sketch had everything. A man-baby DJ in a wheelchair, a spot-on parody of The Graduate, a room full of human magic 8-balls and of course, Anderson Cooper.
Watch the beautifully strange and hilarious ceremony here:
Armisen, who is the longest tenured cast member only behind Seth Meyers, went out as Ian Rubbish, the english punk rocker/Iron Lady fan. He was joined by Aimee Mann, Dinosaur Jr.’s J. Mascis, Steve Jones and co-creator of Portlandia Carrie Brownstein.
