Spec Script for Mister Rogers Biopic Sold to Treehouse Pictures

A former staff writer from The Ellen DeGeneres Show has written and sold a spec script about the life of children’s TV star Fred Rogers.

Alexis Jolly’s A Beautiful Day In the Neighborhood was sold to Treehouse Pictures, according to Deadline Hollywood.

Roger’s iconic television show, Mister Roger’s Neighborhood made its premiere in 1968 and ended after 31 seasons in 2001. The award-winning show garnered four Emmys. Rogers himself earned a Lifetime Achievement Emmy in 1997.

No further details about the script or the film’s production have been released.
