As previously reported, Icelandic band Sigur Rós will be featured on the upcoming 24th season finale of The Simpsons this Sunday, and the band’s record company, XL Recordings, has just released a poster that shows the trio in all of their yellow-faced, animated glory.
The episode, titled “The Saga of Carl Carlson,” will be aired as a two-part finale and will see Homer and the gang travel to Iceland, according to IceNews. It will be backed by an original score composed completely by the the band, including a cover of the iconic series theme song. According to their website, the ambient rockers “have written and performed more original music for The Simpsons than any other outside band in the show’s history.”
The episode will air on Sunday, May 19 at 8 p.m. EST on Fox. It will also serve as a promotional tool for the band’s seventh studio album, Kveikur, due out in the U.S. on June 18.
