Warner Bros. to Make Dungeons & Dragons Movie

Thanks to HBO’s Game of Thrones and Peter Jackson’s Hobbit film franchise, the fantasy genre, especially stories featuring swords and sorcery, has experienced an increase in popularity recently.

It’s perfect timing, then, for Warner Bros. to acquire the rights to the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons.

David Leslie Johnson (Red Riding Hood, Wrath of the Titans) has already written the script, entitled Chainmail. The story was originally based on a more obscure game from Dungeons & Dragons designer Gary Gygas, but will be shaped to fit this new direction. Roy Lee (The Lego Movie) and Courtney Solomon will produce.
