Disney’s new fairytale musical, Into the Woods, already boasts a fairly impressive cast, but it looks like the film might be about to gain another well-known, fresh face.
Anna Kendrick showed off her singing abilities in last year’s Pitch Perfect, and now The Hollywood Reporter says she’s in talks to join Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp and Emily Blunt in the Rob Marshall-directed musical, which is based off the Broadway play of the same name.
The film, which combines various fairytales into one story, is centered on a baker and his wife who attempt to lift a curse that prevents them from having children. Kendrick joins Jake Gyllenhaal, Chris Pine and Les Miserables’ Daniel Huttlestone (Gavroche), who are all also reportedly in talks to play roles in the upcoming film.
Into the Woods is expected to begin filming this September and is set for release on Christmas Day 2014.
