Big Freedia to Star in Own TV Show
New Orleans’ booty-shakin’ Big Freedia announced on Twitter that he’ll be dancing his way onto the Fuse network with his very own reality show, Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce.
Big Freedia’s real name is Freddie Ross, but his stage persona is a woman. The show will revolve around Ross and the misunderstood New Orleans hip-hop scene known as Bounce.
“I’m very excited to have the spotlight on Bounce music and culture,” explains Big Freedia. “I won’t lie though, having cameras on you all the time is stressful and this show is not short on drama. But hopefully I represent Bounce and NOLA in a way people can be proud of.”
The show is produced by the World Of Wonder production company, who has previously worked on series such as RuPaul’s Drag Race, Million Dollar Listing and Life with La Toya.
The eight-episode series will make its premiere Sept. 18. Big Freedia will also be on tour with The Postal Service next month. You can view the list of dates below.
