Denver to Play Live Session in Portland Presented By Aloft Hotels and Paste

For the second year in a row, Paste is partnering with Aloft Hotels to host live sessions from up-and-coming artists in cities all over the country. Yes, the title may be a bit confusing, but country-influenced band Denver is set to perform at the Aloft location in Portland, Ore. on Thursday, July 11 at 7 p.m. Come out and be a part of this special video recording session.

The band originated with Birger Olsen, Mike Elias and Tom Bevitori (of Alela Diane’s Wild Divine) and has seen a rotating cast of stellar musicians playing backup, including Blitzen Trapper’s Eric Earley and Michael Van Pelt.

How would Olsen describe the band’s self-titled debut, released late last year?

“Drums in the living room, singer in the bedroom, four-track cassette recorder, cases of beer, whiskey, sandwiches and a sunny porch.”

Check out their video for “The Way It Is” here and see this self-described “Ramshackle All-Star Country Band” for yourself on July 11 at Aloft Portland Airport at Cascade Station. In the meantime, make sure to RSVP for the show here.
