Kraftwerk Prepping First New Album in a Decade

It’s been a decade since we’ve heard new music from Kraftwerk. Now, having finished touring for The Catalogue, the band’s co-founder assures us it’s on its way.

“Now this is done, one to eight. Now we can concentrate on number nine,” he said in a rare interview with The Guardian. When asked to confirm, Hütter said, “oh yes,” an album is in the works.

Hütter also discussed Kraftwerk’s live shows. When they first toured, the band found themselves dragging their entire studio to every performance. Needless to say, laptops have eased the process.

“Nowadays basically Kraftwerk is a space lab: we can land anywhere as long as we have the projectors and the screens,” Hütter said.

And if you’ve been eagerly anticipating new Kraftwerk tunes to land near you, when asked if there was a timeline for the album, Hütter said, “Of course. It’s music non stop!”
