New Janelle Monáe Album to Feature Prince, Miguel
After announcing that she was recording a new album in April, Janelle Monáe just shared new details on her highly anticipated upcoming sophomore album, The Electric Lady with Billboard, stating she’s enlisted Miguel and Prince to make guest appearances.
Prince’s agreement to appear on the album is a rare occasion, and not one that Monáe takes for granted. “It’s not every day that he collaborates,” she said. “I’m honored and humbled that he trusted me. He is forever my friend, and I am forever indebted. I can’t say too much else about it.”
Billboard also reported that Miguel will have a duet with her on a love song called “Primetime,” that samples the “oooh-ooh” of the Pixies’ “Where is My Mind?”
The Electric Lady will be out in September, but you can re-watch a video for the first single of the album, “Q.U.E.E.N” here.
