In the late ‘80s, Robert Smith and The Cure gifted us with The Cure in Orange, a concert doc that captured live footage of the band touring in support of their sixth album, Head on the Door. With no sign of a re-issue for DVD, the video was forever cursed to old VHS tapes. That is, until one YouTube user uploaded a rare copy of the video.
The concert video pieces together back-to-back 1986 performances at France’s Théâtre Antique d’Orange on Aug. 9 and 10. The band played a stacked set list of many of their biggest hits—like “Close to Me” and “Boys Don’t Cry.” Until their upcoming Lollapalooza set, we can casually browse through their classics on this handy digital copy. Don’t mind if we do.
