Silence of the Lambs Director to Helm AMC Sci-Fi Pilot

Oscar-wining director Jonathan Demme is atached to direct and produce the upcoming AMC pilot Line of Sight, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Sight is being described as a “genre-bending odyssey” centered around plane-crash survivor and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigator Lewis Bernt as he searches to find out what happened to him.

The Fox TV Studios/AMC Studios-produced show was picked up in April and is the network’s first sci-fi production. Brotherhood creator Blake Masters will serve as writer and producer alongside Demme, and production is expected to begin later this year.

This will not be Demme’s first time working in television, as he has also directed a few episodes of HBO’s Enlightened and was director/executive producer on the pilot for the CBS drama A Gifted Man. He has also directed films Rachel Getting Married, Philadephia and, what is perhaps his best-known work, The Silence of the Lambs.
