Spike Lee to Bring Mike Tyson's One-Man Show to HBO

Who would have thought the Spike Lee/Mike Tyson experiment would last this long? The duo’s theater show in Vegas was a hit, went to Broadway and now Lee is working on adapting the show for HBO Films.

Indiewire reports that this July, the critically acclaimed director will film the stage production Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth. The production tells Tyson’s story from his troubled time as a youngster to the man he is today. Tyson was profiled in a similar way by director and filmmaker James Toback for the film Tyson, which made its debut at the Cannes Film Festival in 2008.

“I’m incredibly grateful to HBO for partnering with me and for believing in my story,” said Tyson.

The film will be released on the HBO network later this year.
