Star Wars fans may be given the opportunity to visit a galaxy far, far away. Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios theme park will be adding Star Wars Land, reports Theme Park Insider.
After revamping its California Adventure park, The Walt Disney Company saw a 23 percent increase in attendance last year. Now, Disney has set its sights on implementing similar changes to its Walt Disney World park in Florida.
Perhaps a response to Universal’s successful Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Star Wars Land is speculated to be replacing the Muppets theater and the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids play area.
In addition to Star Wars Land, Hollywood Studios will also be getting a Cars Land similar to the one that opened at Disney’s California Adventure Park last year. Cars Land will reportedly be replacing Catastrophe Canyon and the Lights, Motors, Action auto stunt show.
Star Wars Land looks to be a five-year project that will be completed by 2018. Disney will also be behind the upcoming films Star Wars Episides VII – IX.
