The Killers Collaborating with M83
The Killers may have recently released their fourth studio album last year, but the Las Vegas rockers have already been putting in more studio time to work on new material, and apparently, they’re working with some big names.
In a recent interview with NME, drummer Ronnie Vannucci talked about the band’s ongoing collaborations in the studio with guest producers, including M83’s Anthony Gonzalez.
“I mean, you never know what it’s gonna be, I guess. But we have our engineer, and we’re working with a couple of surprise guests, in the producer capacity. Some of it is sounding really cool,” he told NME. "If these new tracks develop a theme, a common thread, then that could be the start of something ”
In the same interview, the band’s lead singer, Brandon Flowers, also confirmed that he will release his second solo record at some point, a follow up to 2010’s Flamingo.
“I’m definitely gonna do another solo record at some point. Flamingo wasn’t just me dipping my toes in the water,” Flowers said. "What else am I supposed to do with myself?”
It will be interesting to hear if an M83/Killers track does surface. Seeing as both bands are known for their flair for maximalism, we can only imagine a collaboration producing some big sounds.
The Killers are currently touring in support their latest album Battle Born.
