Written and directed by Dan Mazer, the man who penned Borat and Bruno, comes a new movie about marriage and those sacred “I do”s that follows one couple in their first year of married life after a hasty wedding.
Nat and Josh, a couple played by Rose Byrne and Rafe Spall (Life of Pi), had known each other for seven months before they were married, and according to some, the pair are destined for failure. Byrne’s sister, played by Minnie Driver, even gives a negative pronouncement at their wedding: “I give it a year.”
Like any newlyweds, they have to resolve new conflicts and prove their fidelity when they encounter temptation from other people, like Simon Baker (The Mentalist) and Josh’s ex-girlfriend, played by Anna Faris (Scary Movie).
I Give it a Year hits U.S. theaters on Aug. 9.
