A remake of the 1990 psychological horror film Jacob’s Ladder is in the works with LD Entertainment, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The original film starred Tim Robbins as a Vietnam vet who attempts to discover the truth behind his disturbing hallucinations.

The new Ladder will be reportedly more of an homage than a remake, and the creators are looking to modernize the story with new situations and characters. Jeff Buhler (The Midnight Meat Train) will write the script based on an earlier draft by Jake Wade (When a Stranger Calls). Michael Gaeta and Alison Rosenzweig (Friday Night) will produce alongside Mickey Liddell and Jennifer Monroe.

The producers are currently on the hunt for a director. Watch the trailer for the 1990 version below:
