Kristen Wiig Lands Lead in Will Ferrell-Produced Comedy
Earlier this year, Paste reported that Kristen Wiig was in talks to star in a Will Ferrell-produced indie flick, and now, it’s been confirmed.
According to Deadline, the actress/comedian will play the lead in a new comedic drama called Welcome To Me, which is being directed by Shira Piven and produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s production company, Gary Sanchez Productions.
Wiig will play Alice, a woman struggling with a dissociative personality disorder who wins the lottery and has some pretty interesting ideas of how to spend the money.
Other cast members include Jennifer Jason Leigh, Tim Robbins and Linda Cardellini. Wiig can be seen next in another Gary Sanchez Productions film, Anchorman: The Legend Continues, which will hit theaters on Dec. 20.
