One of the first tastes of Peter Gabriel’s covers album And I’ll Scratch Yours has been released in the form of Arcade Fire’s take on Gabriel’s “Games Without Frontiers.”
And I’ll Scratch Yours is a follow-up to 2010’s Scratch My Back, a collection of songs by artists such as Radiohead, Neil Young and Arcade Fire performed by Gabriel. This time around, most of the artists featured on Scratch My Back are taking their turn and covering Gabriel’s discography.
Arcade Fire has teased the forthcoming release with a clip of the band taking on “Games Without Frontiers,” a pretty loyal cover of the original but with a little bit of that Arcade Fire flair.
Arcade Fire is just one of several artists contributing to the project. All but two of the acts featured on the 2010 compilation have returned for And I’ll Scratch Yours. Radiohead and Neil Young were unable to record and will be replaced by Joseph Arthur and Feist, respectively.
And I’ll Scratch Yours is set for a Sept. 23 release.
