Rory Kinnear Shoots Down Doctor Who Casting Rumors
Matt Smith’s Doctor Who days will soon be over, and in the meantime, fans have been speculating over who the next Doctor will be. Although there is still no word on who will step in, we now know that Rory Kinnear, who was a favorite to take over for Smith, will probably not be starring in the BBC series, according to an interview with The Independent
In fact, Kinnear, who is best known for his role as Bill Tanner in Skyfall and Quantum of Solace, has never even seen the sci-fi show, and the actor is pretty certain that he will not be offered the role.
“I don’t [know where the speculation] came from and how these things evolve,” he said. “I haven’t been and I am totally certain that I will not be asked to be the next Doctor Who. If I was an actor who was really longing to play Doctor Who, then this would be torturous, but it’s a program I’ve never watched, so I don’t even really know what it is.”
Matt Smith’s final episodes of Doctor Who will be the show’s 50th anniversary special on Nov. 23 and the Christmas special in December.
