Watch Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros Perform "Life Is Hard" on Letterman

Alex Ebert and his ragtag gang of bandmates are on the heels of their third full-length album and recently returned to Letterman for a performance of “Life Is Hard.” As Letterman states, they’ve truly epitomized the “wall of sound” with last night’s moving performance.

The rambunctious collective from California shouted, swayed and swooned their way through a fantastic rendition of the raw, anthemic cut from their latest album. The 10-person band was packed tightly onto the Late Show stage, but that didn’t prevent Ebert from bouncing about with uncontainable energy.

Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros released their eponymous third full length this week on Vagrant Records.
