<i>Breaking Bad</i>'s Jonathan Banks Joins <i>Community</i> Cast

Watch out Greendale, Breaking Bad’s Jonathan Banks is arriving to settle a couple of scores. By that we mean grades, of course.

According to a report by Entertainment Weekly, Banks, who recently earned a Best Supporting Actor Emmy nomination for his performance as hitman Mike Ehrmantraut on the acclaimed AMC series, is set to appear in 11 episodes of the NBC show’s upcoming fifth season.

Appropriately enough, Banks will be playing Pat Nichols, an “intense criminology professor with a mysterious background in military and police work.” Banks will reportedly appear in the season’s second episode when Annie Edison (Alison Brie) enrolls in his class.

Banks casting continues Community’s recent tradition of bringing on actors known for their frightening, commanding personas to play teachers. Season Three saw The Wire/Boardwalk Empire star Michael K. Williams join the Greendale faculty as a convict-turned-biology teacher while season four cast Clockwork Orange star Malcolm McDowell as a manipulative history professor.
