Bunheads Cast Reunites for Farewell Dance
Though Bunheads has managed to amass quite the following during its short tenure, the show was officially canceled in July. Lovers of the ABC Family series recently got a temporary fix when the show’s cast reunited for a farewell dance video.
The show centered on Michelle, a dancer who leaves her job as a showgirl in Las Vegas to teach ballet to small-town students in the fictional Paradise, Calif. Sutton Foster starred as Michelle.
Network executives spent the last several months in discussions regarding the show’s renewal. Despite never achieving widespread commercial success, the show developed a dedicated fan-base that petitioned the network for its renewal.
The farewell video featured several members of the show’s ensemble teen cast — including Julia Goldani Telles, Bailey Buntain and Kaitlyn Jenkins — who danced to Elton John’s “Blues for Baby and Me.” The video concluded with a thank you to all of the fans “who came to play in our sandbox.”
