Earlier this year All Tomorrow’s Parties announced a dazzling two-day event in London called I’ll Be Your Mirror, a two-day festival curated by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Grizzly Bear. While the Yeah Yeah Yeahs event went off without a hitch, featuring acts like The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and The Black Lips, Grizzly Bear’s has been plagued by cancellations. Back in April, ATP announced that the Grizzly Bear event would have to be rescheduled to Nov. 2 due to a cancellation of headliners, and now Clash Music points out the entire event has been scrapped.
While the first rescheduling came about due to conflicting schedules with artists, it appears that the cancellation has occurred as a result of venue and scheduling conflicts. Ticket buyers received the following message via email:
ATP and Grizzly Bear have sadly decided to cancel the planned I’ll Be Your Mirror London concert which had been postponed to November. Unfortunately there were problems with the venue and new date. Between us as promoters and the band it’s been decided that it would be wiser to cancel rather than disappoint fans by going ahead with an event that was not up to ATP and the band’s standards.
We will partially refund you for these tickets. The refund will appear on the card originally used for payment within 3-5 working days.
Clash has since cleared up the confusion of a “partial refund,” attributing that to those who purchased a weekend pass for the original dates. Buyers of a single-day pass will be receiving full refunds for the event.
