HBO Casts Brendan Gleeson in New Series The Money
HBO is producing a new drama called The Money that details the extravagant and corrupt lifestyle of America’s elite, and it looks like they’ve found their leading man.
The Wrap reports that Irish actor Brendan Gleeson will star as a powerful media mogul named James Castman who uses his wealth and influence to control his family and expand his empire.
If Gleeson looks familiar, it’s probably because nearly 20 years ago he fought alongside Mel Gibson as Hamish in 1995’s Braveheart. He has also starred in 2004’s Troy and 2002’s Gangs of New York.
The hour-long pilot is written and produced by David Milch, who has previously written for Deadwood and Luck. Justin Chadwick is directing as well as executive producing alongside Art Linson, John Linson, Frank Rich, Eric Roth and Sarah Caplan, who together have worked on Sons of Anarchy, Veep, House of Cards and Political Animals.
