Listen to Kishi Bashi's "Philosophize In It! Chemicalize With It!”

Ex-of Montreal member Kishi Bashi is back on the road this September—violin in tow—for a month-long set of U.S. gigs. And though a month isn’t ample time to see every fan across the country, fear not, the musician will also celebrate the tour with some new music. (Yes!)

“Philosophize In It! Chemicalize With It!” will be the A-side of an upcoming 7”—a different version will be included on his next LP marks his first original material since 2012’s stunning 151a. The track contains delightful nods to The Shins and Vampire Weekend as the song bursts and pops like its staccato-punctuated title implies. Start your Friday off right and let Kishi Bashi’s playful, infectious composition wash over you. Chances are, you’ll want to tote it around with you the entire weekend. Take a listen below.

More recently, Kishi Bashi also released a couple of new covers, including Beirut’s “”A Sunday Smile and the Talking Heads’ “”This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody). Catch Kishi Bashi when his tour kicks off Sept. 9 in Hamden, Conn.
