Vinyl Records Taped to Venue Floors Create New Noise for Project Bootleg
Project Bootleg claims to be the first recording made by a live crowd. Manuel Urbanke and Maximilian Hoch of the creative team MaMa took blank vinyl records and taped them to venue floors during a series of concerts including The Roots and Deadmau5. Concert-goers were encouraged to dance, stomp and spill on the records. After the shows, the noise from the scratched records were mixed in the studio to create new tracks. The project was a collaboration with musician Daniel Freitag.
