Sesame Street Parodies Sons of Anarchy
“It’s not a crime, just a hobby…right Bobby?,” says one of the rhyme masters in a Sons of Anarchy-inspired parody from Sesame Street.
The Sesame Street clip, which appeared online today, tames the FX drama’s leather-clad gun-slingers (Jax, Clay, Bobby and Tig all get a Sesame reboot here) into rhyme-busting “Sons of Poetry.”
The writing-themed parody especially throws a bone to SoA fans who know the show’s connection to the W.B. Yeats poem “The Second Coming” and Hamlet, along with Jax’s affinity for writing in his journal.
Kurt Sutter, the creator of Sons of Anarchy, expressed his appreciation for the nod from Sesame Street (the show has previously parodied True Blood, Mad Men and Boardwalk Empire).
