Telluride Film Festival 2013 Announces Lineup
Founded by Bill and Stella Pence, Colorado’s annual Telluride film festival will celebrate its 40th anniversary this weekend (Aug. 29-Sept. 2) by hosting a number of high-profile films/directors from around the world.
Notable films in this year’s lineup include the premiere of Jason Reitman’s Labor Day starring Kate Winslet, Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity, Joel and Ethan Coen’s Inside Llewyn Davis, and J.C. Chandor’s All Is Lost starring Robert Redford.
The festival is also honoring famed filmmaker Werner Herzog by opening up the brand new Werner Herzog Theatre. The 650-person capacity venue is located in Telluride’s Town Park Pavilion and will screen Herzog’s classic film Aguirre: The Wrath of God, along with his brand new documentary Death Row.
In addition to the film screenings, a tribute to Joel and Ethan Coen will be held Wednesday night in Telluride Town Park, with a performance by Punch Brothers, who contributed to the Inside Llewyn Davis soundtrack.
