The National's Bryce Dessner to Make Recorded Debut as Composer with <i>Aheym</i>

The National’s Bryce Dessner is going classical on us.

The guitarist is set to make his recorded debut as a composer with release of Aheym, a four-track album that serves as a collaboration with the Kronos Quartet.

Originally written for the Kronos Quartet’s performance at the Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival in 2009, the album’s title track serves as a tribute to Dessner’s immigrant grandparents.

The album will also feature contributions from the Brooklyn Youth Choir.

Aheym is set for a Nov. 5 via ANTI-. View the album tracklist below.
