Watch James Gandolfini, Julia Louis-Dreyfus in the First Trailer for Enough Said
A typical romantic comedy usually begins with one of two scenarios: Love at first sight or, more likely, loathe at first sight, but you know that those two impossibly attractive actors are going to fall passionately in love.
In Enough Said, neither situation happens for Albert (James Gandolfini) and neurotic therapist Eva (Julia Louis-Dreyfus). One of their first interactions is a date at Albert’s house, in which he dons his finest Sunday pajamas. It’s comfortably awkward and completely normal—not your typical romantic comedy meet-cutes.
But, yes, the two do start to catch feelings, only to be interrupted by Eva’s new client Marianne (Catherine Keener), who also happens to be Albert’s ex-wife. After becoming the woman’s confidante and listening to her gripe about her ex—bemoaning things like Albert’s bedroom behavior and weight—Eva begins to see the man through Marianne’s eyes, changing her entire outlook on the guy she was just starting to really like.
The film, written and directed by Nicole Holofcener (Friends with Money), also stars Toni Collette and Ben Falcone and will be released Sept. 20. See Gandolfini and Dreyfus get cutesy in the trailer below.
