Watch the First Trailer for Sherlock's Third Season
For a while there, viewers of BBC’s hit detective show Sherlock weren’t even sure when or if a third season would air. Subsequent news of filming earlier this year and a Comic-Con appearance last month eased fans’ minds a bit. Now viewers have further reason to celebrate: BBC has released a very brief (it’s not even 30 seconds) teaser for season three. If anything, it’s proof that this is really happening.
The trailer aired on BBC after an encore broadcast of season two’s final cliffhanger episode, “The Reichenbach Fall,” and features brief looks at the characters—including a mustache-sporting Watson—in what appears to be the moments before they learn the truth about Sherlock’s disappearance.
At Comic-Con, executive producer Steven Moffat revealed that the premiere episode of season three, titled “The Empty Hearse,” will focus on the impact Sherlock’s faked death had on Watson. The new season is expected to make its premiere sometime in early 2014.
