Albert Hammond Jr. Releases New Track "Rude Customer"
With The Strokes electing not to tour in support of their latest album Comedown Machine, guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. has used the extra time to work on his next solo EP AHJ. Today, Hammond released “Rude Customer,” the first track off the upcoming record.
The EP will include five total tracks and was recorded at Hammond’s studio in New York. For AHJ, Hammond worked with producer and longtime collaborator Gus Oberg, who produced The Strokes’ 2011 album Angles. The EP will be released the record through Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas’ label Cult Records. AHJ marks the third release for Hammond as a solo artist. The EP follows two previous full-length LPs Yours to Keep and ¿Cómo Te Llama?.
“Rude Customer” finds Hammond staying consistent with his Strokes-style guitar playing while adding a more personal touch with his own voice.
AHJ is out October 8th via Cult Records.
