Amy Poehler is heading back to Springfield.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Simpsons executive producer Al Jean confirmed that the Parks and Recreation star will be reprising her role as Jenda, Bart’s future ex-wife, in an upcoming episode set to air this spring.
Titled “Days of Future Future,” the episode takes place 30 years in the future and acts as a follow-up to the 2005 episode “Future Drama,” where Poehler’s character made her first appearance.
“Bart is trying to get over his divorce and he does it in a bit of a Total Recall-type way,” Jean says in the report. “I won’t give away what happens, but that’s a clue.”
The article also states that Jenda is now dating a “crab-like alien creature.” Could this hint towards the confirmed Simpsons-Futurama crossover, with Dr. Zoidberg acting as the aforementioned crab creature?
In any case, Poehler joins a guest roster for the show’s 25th season that also includes Kristen Wiig, Daniel Radcliffe, Elisabeth Moss, Will Arnett and Eva Longoria.
