<i>X-Men</i>'s Bryan Singer Developing Monster Drama for Syfy

Syfy may very well have a worthy successor to Sharknado on its hands.

Deadline confirms that the network has teamed up with director Bryan Singer (X-Men, The Usual Suspects) to produce a modern-day monster drama.

The project, titled Creature at Bay, centers on a government underling tasked with cleaning up the remains of a large-scale monster attack off the coast of a small North Carolina town. The pilot, which will reportedly be presented as a 90-minute event premiere, comes courtesy of John Cabrera, the scribe behind the Singer-produced digital series H+.

An approximate air date has not yet been announced.
