Fox at Work on Batman-Less TV Series Gotham
Fox is currently planning work on a new TV series based on the Batman storyline with just one important character missing: Batman himself.
The series will serve as a prequel of sorts to the Batman franchise. Gotham chronicles the career of police officer James Gordon as he moves up the ranks to eventually become Police Commissioner, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that Gotham will take place before Gordon and Batman meet, meaning that the latter will not make any appearances in the series. However, it will also include story lines that take us into the past of several of the Gotham’s most notable villains.
Bruno Heller (The Mentalist) will executive produce and write for the series, which will be a Warner Bros. Television endeavor.
